Meet Dr. Jessica Barton, DDS

Some dentists send their implant cases elsewhere. Dr. Jessica Barton teaches the clinicians who place them. As an implant instructor with more than 1,000 dental implants (permanent tooth replacements) behind her, she has built her career on the cases other offices call complicated, from a single missing tooth to a full arch.

Her path started in a Kendallville high school program that let her shadow professionals across medicine: doctors’ offices, chiropractic care, physical therapy, surgery, and one dental office. That last stop stuck. She watched a patient’s whole opinion of dentistry change over the course of one appointment and decided that was the work worth doing.

She earned her undergraduate degree at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, then her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Indiana University School of Dentistry. Three years in the United States Air Force as a military dentist followed, after which she returned to Indianapolis to practice.

Owning Harmony Dentistry gave her the chance to build around one idea: treatment meant to improve your health should not be something you dread. Nerves are not an inconvenience here, and a long gap since your last cleaning earns no lecture. She shows you what she sees on the screen, explains it in plain language, and moves at the pace you set. Patients come to her from Fortville, Westfield, and towns nearly an hour out for full-mouth and full-arch work, which tells you something about how those conversations go.

At home she is outnumbered by her husband, Matt, and their two boys, Archer and Everett. She hikes, travels, and keeps closer tabs on interior design trends than she probably needs to. You can see her at either our Fortville or Westfield office, whichever one is easier for you to reach.
